Returns apply only to items purchased directly through smael.co.za. Items must be in their original condition as described below.

If you've changed your mind or no longer need the item, you may return it within 30 days of delivery — no questions asked. This policy allows you to inspect the product in person and ensure it matches what was described on our website.

If your item arrives damaged or faulty, or we confirm a manufacturing defect within 30 days of delivery, we will arrange and cover the full cost of courier collection and redelivery. No inspection fees apply.

For standard returns, no pre-approval is required. As long as the item is unused and in its original packaging, simply follow the steps below to send it back to us.

1. 1 Pack the item securely: Ensure the item is completely unused, in its original condition, and safely packed inside its original packaging with all tags attached.
2. 2 Include your details (CRITICAL): Write your Order Number and the Reason for your return on a piece of paper and place it inside the box.
   
   ⚠️ Warning: Without this note inside the package, we will not know who the item belongs to and will be completely unable to process your refund.
3. 3 Ship it to us: Send the parcel using a trackable courier to our warehouse address below.
4. 4 Share your tracking: WhatsApp your tracking number and Order Number to 074 001 6851 so our warehouse team knows to expect your package.
5. 5 Inspection & Refund: Once received, our team will inspect the item within 3–5 business days. Approved refunds are processed promptly to your original payment method.

smael.co.za reserves the right to assess the condition of returned items and determine eligibility at its sole discretion based on our unused/original packaging policy.

Once your returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome. If your return is approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 7–10 business days.

• Refunds for change-of-mind returns exclude the original outbound shipping cost. If you received free shipping (orders over R750), a R99 shipping deduction applies — this reflects the actual cost of delivering your order.
• Refunds for faulty or defective items confirmed within 30 days include the full item value.
• No cash refunds — all refunds are processed to the original payment method only (security policy).
• If your bank or payment provider requires additional processing time, please allow up to 10 business days before querying.
